Matthew Floegel
Matthew Floegel studies China–Taiwan relations, political identity, and the relationship between language and power. His work draws on a background in communications, technology, and culture, alongside intensive Mandarin study and experience living in Shanghai and Beijing. Through Strait Perspective, he connects academic research with regional developments to make complex political questions accessible to a broader audience. His other writing also examines authoritarian governance and the mechanisms of political repression.
